Jasprit Bumrah excelled in the first Super Over of this season. His range of full-up missiles, back of length deliveries, slow balls and off-cutters was outstanding.

1. Jasprit Bumrah vs. Kings XI Punjab

There have been many thrilling matches throughout IPL history, but few match-ups stand out as being truly thrilling. One such contest occurred between Gujarat Lions and Mumbai Indians in 2017 season’s Super Over, when the game ended up as a tie and had to be decided through extra innings – with Basil Thampy’s outstanding bowling performance helping MI beat GL through extra innings victory.

The Super Over is a one-over period in which the team batting second will bat first. Both teams typically aim to limit scoring during this over and restrict opposition totals; the one scoring the least runs will win the Super Over. But sometimes when one team refuses to change its style of play, one player needs to step up and provide that critical breakthrough; that is where Jasprit Bumrah can come into play – capable of bowling short balls which can help control those batsmen who prefer scoring quickly.

KL Rahul of KXIP was looking to play an explosive innings to secure victory in the Super Over, but Bumrah came through again and dismissed both him and James Neesham quickly so as to leave Delhi requiring only three runs for victory in that particular Super Over.

KXIP struggled in the death overs and it appeared the match would end up tied. But then Yusuf Pathan stepped up with an incredible innings of 67 runs off 52 balls for Rajasthan Royals; leading them into an exciting yet low-scoring RR vs KKR Super Over which ultimately was won by KKR through some inspired work from AB de Villiers.

This match was an outstanding example of how teams can turn a tie into an exciting Super Over. After an exhilarating regular innings score, it ended tied at 185 runs – forcing a Super Over and leading KXIP’s KL Rahul to hit six off the final ball to give his side victory in one of IPL history’s greatest Super Over thrillers! This will go down in history as one of its finest moments!

2. Kagiso Rabada vs. Kings XI Punjab

Kagiso Rabada has long been revered as one of the finest bowlers in international cricket, and his abilities have proven instrumental to the Delhi Capitals over his two seasons of play with them. The South African fast bowler has proven vital in both seasons he has spent with them.

He is an aggressive bowler known for picking up wickets at will; in fact, he has recorded five consecutive five-wicket hauls in Test matches!. From politics to auto, cricket to destinations, budgets to forecasts – Pioneer EPaper covers it all. Stay up-to-date with your trusted daily resource.

He is one of the premier death bowlers in T20 format, making him an IPL standout and dangerous bowler for any batsman in any format.

Delhi Capitals have made substantial strides since starting off slowly this season, and will hope to keep their recent good run going against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday.

This match will be an important test for the hosts as they aim to make it three wins in a row. They will be without some key players such as Liam Livingstone and Yusuf Pathan due to international duty commitments; Nathan Ellis has been filling in for Livingstone while Yusuf Pathan will return from international duty shortly; in their absence Nathan Ellis will attempt to demonstrate why his former all-rounder can hold his own against PBKS’ formidable squad.

In their opening match of the season, PBKS delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Kolkata Knight Riders at home. A high-scoring game saw both sides lose six wickets throughout, but Mayank Agarwal’s outstanding efforts helped PBKS reach an impressive total.

The game was an exhilarating spectacle that had the crowd on their feet from start to finish. A seesawing affair that came down to the final ball saw CSK needing 16 runs off two deliveries and MS Dhoni hitting two sixes off his final delivery to tie up the match and secure victory for CSK.

Both sides put in stellar efforts in what was one of the greatest Super Over finishes ever seen in IPL history. DC skipper Shreyas Iyer heaped praise upon Rabada as they described him as matchwinner; Rabada is one of only two bowlers who has won back-to-back Super Overs (Jasprit Bumrah is MI’s other such bowler).

3. Yusuf Pathan vs. Kolkata Knight Riders

Yusuf Pathan’s devastating innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) qualify for the Indian Premier League playoffs. Following an initially lackluster start, Gautam Gambhir and Manish Pandey guided their side back with power hitting from Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey; their efforts limited Sunrisers Hyderabad’s David Warner led side to a paltry total of 171/6 while also ending the match with an outstanding net run rate.

Pathan achieved his fastest IPL half-century ever – unlikely to be repeated in his career – by scoring 72 runs off 22 balls and hitting five sixes, becoming only the fourth batsman after Chris Gayle, KL Rahul and AB de Villiers to do so in less than 25 deliveries.

This year’s IPL saw many exciting moments on and off the field. Ad dollars began flowing toward online video platforms over linear TV. To remain relevant in an ever-evolving television landscape, brands must invest in building an in-depth understanding of their audience across all formats – such as streaming apps – that will ensure contextually relevant ads.

JioCinema set new records during IPL by breaking digital viewing records, ushering in a new era of sports entertainment on an OTT platform. JioCinema served as an official digital streaming partner of IPL 2023 and amassed more than 147 crore video views in just the first week – including an unprecedented peak concurrency of more than 22 million unique viewers; an unprecedented world record, and higher average user time per match at 60 minutes on average per match!

As we prepare for KKR’s match against Rising Pune Supergiant at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, we spoke with Yusuf Pathan about his time with KKR, Team India selections and IPL 2018 plans. Below are highlights from our interview with him.

4. James Faulkner vs. Rajasthan Royals

James Faulkner provided Rajasthan Royals with a 26-run win against Kings XI Punjab at Gahunje Stadium in Pune with both bat and ball, after an inauspicious start when he was dismissed for just three runs during their run chase. Faulkner then rallied alongside Deepak Hooda to stabilize their innings before unleashing his brutal force to help bring them ever closer to reaching their target score of 191.

At one point in the 16th over, he was in full flight as he hit sixes from 13 balls for 35 – his maiden IPL century was met with wild applause by home fans.

Faulkner had one final over to lead his Royals side to victory on a seamer pitch that offered no favours, with run-rate increasing rapidly past 16. Faulkner went all-out, smoking Varun Aaron for 16 runs before trying a desperate slog against Mitchell Starc to up the stakes even further.

He only needed two runs from the last ball to win on boundary count, and used an easy back-foot slog and hit it straight to extra cover to clinch it for his side, the Royals.

Smith gave credit to James for what he described as his lifetime performance, calling it one of “greatness”. Smith further stated, “James has come through as promised under pressure and deserves much praise and applause. James is truly great player.”

The Royals currently stand fifth in the table with 12 points from eight games and have a strong chance of making it into the play-offs despite a slow start. Their batting has dramatically improved since Smith and Faulkner joined, as their aggressive approach helped score over 160 runs each time in recent matches – something it will be critical for them to carry forward into subsequent rounds of tournament.
